Mumbles has always been more than just a seaside destination — it’s a community built on independent shops, family businesses, and local pride. A new short film produced by Brand Swansea shines a light on the people and places that give the village its unique character.
From the fresh flavours of Gower Seafood Hut and Coakleys Fishmongers, to the artisan brews of Mumbles Coffee, the surf-inspired Hiatus Store, the creative flair of Gower Gallery, and the much-loved Cover to Cover bookshop, the film captures a vibrant mix of businesses that define the local high street. West French Skate Shop also brings an edge of youth culture, showcasing how Mumbles caters to every generation.
The release of the film comes at a time of change, as the new seafront development begins to transform Mumbles’ coastal frontage. With improved spaces, modern facilities and a fresh focus on community, the project is designed to enhance the visitor experience while supporting the businesses that keep the area thriving.
At its heart, the film is a reminder of why shopping local matters. Every coffee, book, or piece of fresh fish bought in Mumbles helps sustain jobs, nurture creativity, and protect the independent spirit that makes the village stand out.
Brand Swansea will continue to champion local enterprise, creativity and culture — and this film is just one way of celebrating the stories that shape our city and coast.
